An ordinary girl without any super powers. Was born with a few % of Chinese blood. Wore braces and retainers before. Used to be always in her state of trance. Gets distracted easily by the surroundings. Always have ridiculousweird dreams, not wet dreams. Family/relatives call me Nurul. Friends call me Jannah.
And i definitely believe that it takes more muscle to frown than to smile =D
so my aunty from U.S came back home yesterday after leaving her homeland(Singapore) for 7months with her son and husband. "migrate" to U.S. that's what she said 7months ago. i thought she was going to stay there for years and that made me so depressed that i almost flooded the airport with tears when i waved them goodbye.
in the end, there were some changes in plan as she's now 2months pregnant and she wants to give birth in Singapore. xD [yeah mannn!!!] oh yes, i hope it's a GIRL. i want a friend. i'm the only granddaughter my grandparents got.
the one on the right on the picture there is abdel wahab. the one who just came back. the one on the left is my another cousin from sengkang, named Hanif Abqary. hanif is older by a month. photo taken when they were 2 mths old.
we call him "Beeboo" or "Wahab". supposed to be "Habeeboo" which means darling in Arab. his father speak Arab to him. not african language. so, he have to learn English, Malay and Arab language. how lucky. they're now living at my granny's house.
he's such a tough boy (OMG!). he's hyperactive and love to run around and play with whatever is in the house. he hates colourful toys. spoons, basket, remote control etc etc all those stuffs that we, humans always deal with at home are his toys. he'll topple over a laundry basket and when we stop him to put back all the laundry back into the basket, he'll run over to another spot and grab something and knock it until it breaks. tsk tsk tsk. the house will never be clean. i wonder how my aunty survived those days in U.S. and he will continue this mess and run around the house without feeling exhausted. he'll never know the meaning of tired. he only sleeps when it's dark. are all african babies this active? LOL.
this morning, i brought him out in the morning to go to the shop with my aunty. for a 1 year old kid, he sure is VERY HEAVY. he followed his daddy's genes. big bones. while my aunty went to buy milk, we waited outside the shop and i let him run around for awhile. then he suddenly approached this Bangla who was walking and then Beeboo just hugged his legs. the bangla man just stood there and laughed. when i pulled him away, he ran to the bicycles and touch2 the tyres. then he just push the bicycle with great force that it just fell over the ground. when i picked up the bicycle, he got so excited when he saw a dog. (he loves dogs cause in U.S, there's lots of dogs and he even hugged a dog once.) he ran towards the dog and wanted to touch it. i perspire a lot just taking care of him. great exercise.
finally. some peace.

uncombed & messy hair. i will only comb my hair whenever i have the mood to do so. if not, i'll just run my fingers through my hair. granny allowed me to dye my hair. after thinking about it, i chose not to do so. [yah, random post]
my aunt from U.S is coming back home on 30Nov 0025hr. xDDDD i don't think i'll be able to hit the sack that night. dad didn't allow me to fetch them at the airport. so, i'll just wait patiently by the front door for their presence.
time is precious. time is $$. my dental appointment just now was supposed to be at 2.30pm but i went in at 6pm. now you know how patient i can be?
i just waited there, read and re-read the newspapers, watch some Chinese Opera, stared at myself in the huge mirror and then i decided to take a walk outside. while waiting patiently at the counter, an indian lady came in as she had an appointment at 3.15pm. then, she got totally pissed off as the patient in the room(the one before me that's taking such a long time) had to do an unexpected surgery which will take a very long time. And the poor nurse got reprimanded by her with such harsh words, hopefully she won't take it too hard. she then took a walk around that area and came back at 4pm. unfortunately, the patient is still going through surgery. meaning, she had to wait again. so, she left the clinic again, changing her appointment to some other days.
i think the doctor is just being greedy. i mean, if he can't take too much patient in one day then don't. each patient is estimated to get consultation for roughly 30 min. but most of the time, the patients can take up to an hour or even more. like for example, this patient took 3 and half hours. it ain't fair rite for other patients as we have to wait for such a long time as our appointment is being delayed. some people even took like early leave or even a day off for an appointment and then this kind of thing happens. it's really such a waste of time and $$.
as for me, luckily today i got nothing on. and when i went in, the dentist did some scaling and polishing and X-ray and fluoride treatment which only took 15 min. he said i had to pluck out another wisdom tooth. when he left the room to attend to another patient, the nurse was with me to explain to me the importance to pluck out the wisdom tooth a.s.a.p as it may make my teeth get crooked again...yada yada. then i purposely bombarded her with a lot of questions to make her busy and let me stay in the room a little bit longer. sheesk.

i happen to browse through my folder and found these photos. hmm..i think we were at the scince lab handing up our physics workbook that Mr Thia threatened us to pass up a.s.a.p.
fatin and i went for the robinson interview today. the interview starts at 2 and we reached around 2.10pm and the queue was so long as if we were queuing for Singapore idol audition. i haven't had my lunch and she haven't had her breakfast. i felt like as if my stomach is cursing me for not giving it food to digest. the interviewer seems friendly despite having to repeat the same dialog of explaining about our attire, training etc etc to maybe hundreds of people. i don't even call that an interview. i call that briefing!
we roamed around raffles city shopping centre for awhile and then headed straight to Long John's silver. then went to tmall to get fatin's scrap book. i didn't know she loves to draw.
on the way to the interchange, i was attracted (for the first time)to this flyer distributed. it's a facial treatment which costs only $10 for the first 100 customers since they just opened the new shop. the offer is just to attract customers since they just opened the new outlet in tampines. the original price is $60. after moments of hesitations, i decided to sign up with fatin, remembering granny telling me to go for facial this holiday. the offer is within this 3 months.

i came around 6pm and it was such a coincidence that i met jolene and yiwen, followed by hui ting in the bus. as usual, i had to bring nuggets to the outing.
the first thing that caught my attention in the room was brownies! i'm in heaven! watched "John Tucker must die" while eating all sorts of food. good show though. sheila and hanna looked gorgeous. heh. must look good when meeting rihanna. :D
when fatin came, she wanted to watch the chinese show. so, i accompanied her to the other room. nevermind, i will continue watching John Tucker in youtube :)
we started taking lots of pictures at night. it's like everyone started posing and then all at the same time snapping pictures all around.
the problem is his ice Popsicles. he have to bring it to school the next morning for sale and now the fridge is spoil. i see a hopeless, melting ice Popsicles lying helplessly in the basin. THIS IS AN EMERGENCY!
first, we thought of borrowing the large fridge at 7-eleven. but the lady said they can't allow outside people to use their fridge.
it was around 11pm. so, me and my brother were at T-mart, roaming around while he called his friends who lived nearby to borrow their fridge. THANK GOD THEY ALLOWED.
of course we didn't put all of the 50 Popsicles in one fridge. we learnt our lesson. so, he called another friend to put the remaining Popsicles. phew~ that was a relief. the Popsicles were saved. this might be his assignment, but i don't know why I'm the one who is worrying too much about his Popsicles. it was a milo one.

i have a confession to make. i can feel the burden of guilt weighing down on me even more if i don't do this. well..
for those of you who asked me if wearing braces hurt, and if i said no, then i must be lying. yes, it does hurt. but not all the time. it'll only hurt when it was the first time you're wearing it. and also after each appointment with the dentist. I'm sorry if i have to lie cause i just don't want to scare people who planned to wear braces in future. As a form of compensation, I would like to share with you my experiences and some tips about braces.
General tips:Since it's the school holiday, it's the best time for you to wear them now. try to get the nearest clinic cause anything happens to your braces, you can easily go back there to fix it. once the metal wires poke my gums (and it hurts of course), so i went back there to seek aid. there's going to be a lot of appointments before you wear the real braces. for those who preferred going to the hospitals, I'm not so sure about the process and all. I only know that you will get subsidies and you have to wait for years to wear braces. but if you go to private clinics like i did, it costs around $3800-$4000. YES, YOU CAN PAY BY INSTALLMENTS. every visit, i paid $150. only for braces.
Before braces:you will have to go through X-rays and if he founds something usual, you will need to go to other specialists he appointed to seek second opinion. if nothing serious, then he will put this small circular rubber bands in between your last tooth and the second last tooth. after a week, those rubber bands will be removed and he will insert in a metal piece that covers the sides of your entire last teeth.
Wearing braces: take a lot of pictures first before you go for the appointment on the day you have to wear braces ;) remember to wear some lip balm first because he will use this giant plastic to hold your lips and open your mouth wide. (you won't want people to look at you i swear). the whole process took me 2 hours. he will use this gadget that illuminates a blue light to dry your teeth and then he'll glue the metal blocks on each tooth. it hurts for the first time and i had difficulty talking. i had to eat porridge and soft food for the first day. hard food like meat and chicken can only be eaten if you think you can :)
these will be your best friends everyday. mouth gargle, mouth floss and a small toothbrush. don't worry, that toothbrush have not been used. you need to use 2 toothbrushes. one is on the photo shown and another one an ortho toothbrush. can get it in the clinic.
Then: sometimes, when you brush your teeth, your mouth bleeds. you will need to visit the dentist every 6 weeks. for that visit, he will tighten the wires and do something else he needed to. after that, your whole mouth feels numb. so numb that you'll find eating a piece of bread is hell. the sensation will go away after 1-2 days.
Next: usually, dentists will recommend you to pluck out 4 adult teeth. for some people, they don't pluck out. he will not make you go to sleep but he will just buse the gums. 2 upper teeth and 2 lower teeth. he will pluck out 2 at one appointment. the gap, size of a tooth will eventually close up with the help of the wires.
After braces: after you wear braces, you will need to wear retainer like I'm wearing now which cost $600. this is not included in the previous sum. the single wired retainer is for more serious case. the best time to wear braces is when we're still teenagers. when we're 20+, our gums will be harder and hence, the process of braces will take longer. more than 2 years i guess. the metals were stuck on my teeth for 2 years. it was supposed to be 1 and half years but my surgery was the cause of the time extension.
before i wore braces.
2 months wearing braces.
5 months wearing braces.
1 year wearing braces.
1 year 6 months wearing braces.
I'm sure this seems familiar to most of you. haha. this is my retainer box where i always keep my retainers. you have to remove your retainers when you want to eat and brush your teeth.
AFTER BRACES..[retainers]
and that's the end of my experiences. not exactly the end. i'm still wearing retainers though. for those who are planning to wear them, i strongly encourage you to do so. any doubts, i am more than willing to help you :) seriously, i'm not trying to scare you but some scary stuffs told are just to make you feel more ready to what reality you are going to face. you're just gonna suffer for 2 years and then you can enjoy for the rest of your life :D
donuts, anyone? i can finally know the real meaning of freedom now. say bye bye to books, and hello to freedom and happiness.
i shall now reward myself for surviving those awful moments by eating donuts from donut empire :)
this is an example of an internal bleeding. such a horrible looking bruise that leaves a hideous mark on my left leg. what happened?
last Saturday.. i was on the way to the tamp library near the toilet area where you have to pay 10 cents. there's this uncle walking, in fact kinda like running at fast speed with the trolley. the thing is, he wasn't looking in front at the direction he was going to. instead, he was looking around and even turned his head 360 degrees to his back. he was coming from my right. i couldn't stop in time. at first i was lucky cause he didn't hit my right leg but unfortunately the trolley hit my left leg with tremendous force. BANG! OUCHHHHH!!
he stopped, stared, and continued walking with the trolley without a word. idiot.
mom didn't say anything when i got home. she just laughed o.0 i got big brother nagging at me, say.. "just because you got only one paper left doesn't mean you don't need to take care of yourself!"
hey! i did take care of myself. i even tried to avoid him from hitting my right leg. but my left leg became the victim. oh well, accidents do happen anywhere, anytime.
the trolley looks something like this but a metal, and very heavy one. the one apek, "karang guni" man always use to carry newspaper.
this year is an unlucky leg year for me. first, i sprained my ankle last february. now this. no worries, it's just a bruise.
my aunty is sending this photo for dunno what photogenic contest for babies. he's 1 year 2 months now. the photo is taken when he was around 7-8 months old.
this was when he was 3 months old. this is the cousin fatin wants to marry. hahaha! must get my approval first. xDDD

these will be your best friends everyday. mouth gargle, mouth floss and a small toothbrush. don't worry, that toothbrush have not been used. you need to use 2 toothbrushes. one is on the photo shown and another one an ortho toothbrush. can get it in the clinic.
"just because you got only one paper left doesn't mean you don't need to take care of yourself!"
hey! i did take care of myself. i even tried to avoid him from hitting my right leg. but my left leg became the victim. oh well, accidents do happen anywhere, anytime.
the trolley looks something like this but a metal, and very heavy one. the one apek, "karang guni" man always use to carry newspaper.
this year is an unlucky leg year for me. first, i sprained my ankle last february. now this. no worries, it's just a bruise.
my aunty is sending this photo for dunno what photogenic contest for babies. he's 1 year 2 months now. the photo is taken when he was around 7-8 months old.
this was when he was 3 months old. this is the cousin fatin wants to marry. hahaha! must get my approval first. xDDD
