now i'm here sitting in front of the computer while some people are enjoying themselves at the prom organized by students. can't go today because tmr morning i have to go tangkak to celebrate hari raya haji at grandma's kampong. yes, tangkak. it's a town in between johor and malacca. now you learn something new? :D

let me talk about yesterday's first day at work at Hyatt Hotel. i came late and so so so sorry to fatin, nadrah and nafisa to keep you all waiting. nadrah is fatin's friend and nafisa is nadrah's friend so lets just make friends. the four of us got lost at first cause we were still unfamiliar with the routes that leads to certain room despite being there during our interview. i mean, we're so new so can't expect us to remember all the complicated directions.

in the toilet, we wore our smart, black uniform (hehe) then bun up our hair and put on make up. the grooming there for workers are VERY strict. girls have to wear light make up with red lipstick. red lipstick?? i feel so nyonya la and fatin said she looked so geisha. lol. then put on wax on our hair and we helped each other with the hair. 5 star hotel mah..very strict in all these.

we reported 30 minutes late cause we don't know where to put our bags. lockers are available but we were not sure of how to use them. thankfully, we didn't get reprimanded but some chinese girls who were there for the first day did. since we were late, we were only given 15 minutes to have our dinner o.0

15 minutes is not enough. we hurried and queue up the long row but unfortunately, we queued up at the chinese section. we only realised that after we sat down with our food in front of us. and we only got 4 minutes left. so, we only managed to eat bananas and drink orange juice. then rushed back to see our captain.

he taught us about the table stuffs all and what we were supposed to do for this chinese wedding. since it was our first day, we were given partners who are more experienced to work with. my partner is Chian Na and Suhaidi. they are very fun people to work with !! i have to handle 4 tables when i was only assigned to 2 tables. but it's alright. i helped Izzati with her table as well.

as a waitress, i had to carry drinks, served chinese tea, served their food, fold their napkins whenever the guests are not around, fill up their glasses, take their orders again, replace the used plates with new ones...yada yada. quite an easy job though (just because it's our first day). some of the guests are nice. there's this uncle who drank lots of chinese tea. it's our job to refill their cups but i have to refill his cup 3 times almost every 5 minutes. if i was too busy to do so, he will like stare at me and then wait for me to pour the tea when actually the teapot is just right in front if him.

Suhaidi and Izzati called him "uncle cheekopek". LOL. then after that, i got a little freaked out whenever he looked at me. another table is full of japanese guests. they didn't finish up their food and they refused to allow us to remove them from the table. however, there's A LOT of other food to be put on the table and we were kinda worried of where to put the rest.

around 11.30pm, we were called to sign out as the wedding dinner as ended. but last minute i had to distribute cupcakes to the guests. i was like, huh? i have to rush home to catch the last train! and most of the guests mabok already, maybe because they drank too much wine or beer.
then got one aunty just took the leftover boxes of cupcakes and it left my tray empty. but then she asked for a plastic bag and i don't know where to get it. fortunately, Suhaidi appeared at my back and helped to settle her problems.

yada yada. after we got changed, fatin desperately needed to fill her stomach. so went to far east (in the middle of the night) to eat. first time i went out to town so late at night. i love this job!

just now went to sengkang swimming pool with my dear little cousins. too bad i didn't get a chance to play with the slide cause it was raining and then we had to go off soon. i just had to take care of my cousin and play by the baby pool.
