Gillian and me

today is my day! firstly, i was able to have additional 45 minutes sleep cause Farid's dad sent us to school. and then after school ended, my classmate held a surprise birthday party in the canteen to celebrate me and Yi Lian's birthday which falls on 22 feb and 23 feb respectively.

it was totally unexpected and i felt utterly contented to have thoughtful friends, who had to run all the way to Hougang mall to get the chocolate cake from Polar and then celebrate it together. too bad not all the class were present as some had to go off earlier.

:DDDDDDDDD

i'm so excited for this coming Saturday! Adeq Iza booked me already to bring me out to donut factory, then find my stuff, then have dinner at Pastamania. this just spells F-U-N!!

Happy 17th birthday Jannah! (haha!)

gosh. honestly, i feel old.

sorry people for not updating my blog for ages. the problem is, my comp is lagging like infinity and that made me fed up and so i chose not to go online nor update my blog. the next thing is, i've got truckloads of homeworks to do. i'll try to update whenever i got the time and you'll be lucky if you get to see any posts here.

birthday gift from my mom and dad :D

my aunt and uncle bought me pink Nike shoes at Royal sporting house and 8 pairs of socks just now. and then we headed to Swensens to meet up my mom, brother and another aunty for the birthday treat.

thank you people for remembering this special day for me.
thank you: Jared, maisharaqh, nabillah, yiming, khairiyah, ahmad, iryana, asyraf, mukri, adeq iza, vanisha, Mira, syahirah (pri sch friend), razeef, charmaine, zaid, iylia, aunts and uncles for the birthday wishes.

i don't feel as excited as before, turning 1 year older than anybody else. oh, and thank you khairiyah for the water globe :D

let me talk a bit about school. i had to be the temporary class leader for 2 days and i don't like it. for every lesson, as a class leader, we're to record down the class attendance and after every lesson we must get the teacher to sign. once at the lecture hall, my class had to sit at the last row, at the furthest back of the hall. and after the lesson ended, i had to go all the way down, squeezing my body in between people with bags, continuously saying "excuse me" and rushed down before the teacher goes off without signing the class list. then i had to go all the way up again to grab my bag and tag along with my friends who were waiting for me at the top level. and i once forgot to pass the class list to the chinese students for their chinese lesson so that means there's no teacher's signature for that period. then i had to search for the chinese teacher after school and i was lucky she haven't got into her car yet. pray i won't get to be the class leader.

as for my cca, i'm in taekwondo. khairiyah, farid, iylia and zaid are also in the same cca as me. lots of stretching and running to do. we had to do spiltz for 1 min and the guys hated that part the most. haha. so funny seeing them open their legs widely trying their best to do splitz.

we've learnt how to do front kick, side kick and high kick. while zaid was trying to kick the cushion held on by the senior, he accidentally kick the guy's *toot*. and that made the guy crying in pain until the end of the whole lesson.

there were many funny moments we encountered but i won't tell it here in case it's a bit too sensitive. overall, my cca is where i always look forward to despite getting muscle cramps after the lesson. sooner or later, these cramps will go away and then our body will be super flexible, just like rubber band. heh.

i missed 4e6. seriously.

so today, i got to know my class and it's no different from my ex class, 4e6.

no 1: there were more girls than guys. there's only 5 guys out of 25 students.

no 2: my classmates always give the o.0 face whenever somebody talk to us as a class.

no 3: my class NEVER response. the OGLs kept on having to repeat "Can I have some response please?"

i wonder if it's just me or is it just fate that I always get into a class which most people labeled as graveyard. but okay la..if you know the people well, they are nice people. just like my ex 4e6. LOL.

and there's one Chinese guy, a classmate of mine which we called him "Obama" because of his Chinese name, started a conversation with me...

Obama: You Singaporean ah?
Me: HUH??!!! (eyes widened)
Me: Sorry i "HUH" at you. i was shocked you asked me that random question. (and i felt like slapping myself for being rude)
Obama: Oh. i also shocked cause I asked you that question :P

and 2 people thought i was an Eurasian. o.0
i may have mixed blood, but none comes from the Eurasian side.
i accidentally burst into laughter when they told me that.
can't help it la. i find it so hilarious.
Me? Eurasian???? xDDDDDDD

today we just played games in the school and tomorrow we're going around Hougang for our amazing race.

it was my really a last minute plan for me to go out yesterday to Bugis with Maisharaqh. i desperately needed to get my school beg since last week.

we went out in the noon, with Mai in her work clothes as she has to report to the T3 McCafe at 5.30pm. black collared shirt, black pants, black shoes...cool black uniform. i miss my working experiences.

when we entered the first shop, i fell in love with that particular beg once i saw it. Love at first sight maybe? but Mai insisted that we roam around first as it's just the first shop.

well, there were some nice ones but the quality of the product just turned me down. while roaming around, we searched for Mai's jacket as well.

honestly, the jackets were like the same everywhere we go. except for certain ones if you're lucky you can find it.

so in the end, i got the first beg that i fell in love with. :DDDD
it's alrite Mai, you'll find the most perfect jacket soon. it'll just appear in front of you. patience.

then we headed to TM and CS cause it was still too early for mai to report to work and Mai really missed the place. Bedok is very old. I think in the next generation, Tampines will be considered old too.

i only experienced 5 days of JC life and i'm already starting to feel the stress boiling in my brain. we attended lectures yesterday and today to get ourselves warmed up before our formal curriculum which starts in 2 weeks time.

yesterday, we had to do one GP essay. and we started learning H2 Maths on partial fractions. not just partial fractions but something deeper into that subject. fortunately, he explained it in detailed and i managed to catch whatever he taught. thank goodness i took Amaths for Olevels.

then, today, i attended the geography lectures instead of physics since i'm not taking that subject. it seems that my textbooks will be based on my on effort of reading up geography books written by some particular authors. it's a vague subject just like GP so we have to take our initiatives in order to do well.

after that, we attended the chemistry lecture and learnt a new topic like order of reaction and half life. i swear she was like talking alien language to us. then we had to do a quiz to see how much we had managed to absorb for the 1 hour lecture.

before we were dismissed, there were some performances put up my the performing arts like choir, dance, guitar ensemble, band, and gunzheng ensemble. now i'm considering joining Dance.

while the guys went off for their Friday prayers, i was stuck at the gallery queueing up to buy my bermudas. unfortunately, there is no more stock and i have to queue up again on tuesday just to get my damn bermudas. argh.

khariyah treated me a snack because she complained i'm too skinny. LOL. she wants me to gain weight. haha. good la. then i'll always get free food from her xDDD

oh, and my subject combination i got is H2 maths, chem, econs H1 Geog.

Wednesday, February 04, 2009
i changed my mind on the subject combination i'm taking.
H2 maths, chem, econs H1 geog.

i'm taking such a huge fatal risk if I were to take H2 physics since I don't have Pure Science background.

i'm too tired to update about anything. bought uniforms today and we are to wear our SRJC Polo T-shirt 3 times a week for the whole day. meaning, we'll only wear our Full uniform on 2 days. fun or what?! i never liked wearing Full uniforms since primary school.

2nd Feb. the start of the new life for freshmen to finally experience junior college life. people i knew from ESSS who got into the same junior college as me are Farid, Iylia, Brian, Jun Kai, Hafizzudin, Zaid, Khariyah (sec 5) & Anisa (sec 5).

our school ESSS uniform is EXACTLY the same as their SRJC uniform. same colour, same pattern, same pocket.

the first few hours on the first orientation day were talks presented by the Principal about the life of junior college, followed by presentations by the JC2 students about their overseas trips. Sarawak, Vietnam, Japan, Sydney, Melbourne, Hong Kong and 3 different parts of China were where they ventured out to have their global classrooom experience. i am so signing up for these trips!

next, we had a tour around the school and the OGL (orientation group leaders) led us to their lecture halls, library, 2 cafes etc etc. in between some free times, we had our ice breaking games and in my opinion, that was just the best part of the day.

then we went to one of their classrooms and I believed that it is way smaller than our secondary school classrooms. furthermore, the tables and chairs are arranged such that we had to sit in groups. Despite, the small clasroom, there were many ceiling fans and I felt very fortunate to be the lucky one sitting right under one of the fans.

before we ended our day, those people who do not have either Amaths or Pure Science and are alocated into the Science Stream (which includes me), had to stay back cause the teacher wanted to have a small talk with us.

she warned us about the H2 Science subjects since we do not have the Pure Science background. besides that, she stressed about the majority of people who took H2 Science who had combined Sci for Os not doing well at the end of the year. that is terribly freaking me out.

what a way to end my day. then, we went off to extend our ezlink cards at the interchange and the queue was like never ending. luckily we reached there early.

tomorrow is the day we get to choose the subject combinations we want.
planning to take H2 Maths, Physics, Econs. H1 Geog

and the school's cut off point increased to 17 for Science and Arts Stream. previously, it was 18 for Science and 20 for Arts. this year's intake for JC1 is 760. hmmm..that's quite a large number.
