Dawn works at the Men's shoe

Gail works at the Bedsheets department

1st day at work [at Robinsons.]
i was hoping that i'll get to work at the shoe department but i was assigned to Men's wear instead. i was taken aback at first. with no trainings, just come on the day of work itself, i was still unfamiliar with the arrangement of stocks and all. so when a customer asked for his size, i have to run all the way back to the store room , dig out the pile of clothes in the cage, search frantically for that particular clothes he wanted then run all the way back outside to hand it over. it took me quite a long time to look for most of the clothes cause like i said, i was still unfamiliar with the stocks. i had to take care of 2 departments. and when my partner went for her break, that gives me 3 departments to take care of. fold clothes, serve customers, replenish stocks , run here and there etc etc are my job.

when it was my break, my partner (name Fadillah) felt unwell so she wanted to go home. the thing is, i didn't know we have to bring along our wallet with us during work cause no one told us to do so. our bags we all piled up like one very big mountain and good luck for me finding my bag. luckily i did managed to find mine. she then accompanied me for break and we talked a lot. and i mean, a lot. it's like as if we've known each other for a very long time.

back from break, i had to take care of the 3 departments again since my partner left. very busy woman i tell you. but of course at the same time while doing the work, me, the promoters and some robinsons workers talked and crapped around (but not all the time). there's one chinese promoter asked for my number. (LOL) . for some reasons, i can tell that it wasn't a good sign. if you know me well, you would know what my answer is to that guy. worked for 11hours that day since it was christmas day and the place was packed like sardines.

somebody left 2 packets of hush puppies underwear on my counter. what is this?! can't you just leave them at the silver box where you can deliver your unwanted goods?

2nd day at work
although i work with fatin, we seldom get to see each other cause we work at a different level and our shifts are all not the same. i work in the afternoon shift today and my place was in terrible mess. i had to start folding up the clothes back from square one. i felt more confident today cause i've familiarized the stock arrangements and i can answer most of the customer's questions and not just say "i'm not so sure about that sir". while folding the shirts, a malay guy asked for my number and asked me to go break with him. LOL. i got to know him from day 1.

the chinese guy that asked for my number yesterday got fired because he quarreled with our supervisor. so sad for him. but actually, i felt a slight tingle of relief he's leaving cause i don't want to see him again. but he came back to our department with his home clothes and did his usual job.

Him: You seem so busy sia.
Me: Eh, you still dare to come here ah. the supervisor is just over there.
Him: nevermind la. i helping my friend what. i can help you also right? (gives the slumber face)
Me: (Rolls eyes) I can manage myself.

Fadillah was in the morning shift. so at 6.30pm, i had to take over her job again. today was the most busiest day. lots of customers to serve, lots of clothes to fold and lots of running to do. i seriously think they should hire more people. from the interview, out of hundreds of people that went for it, they only picked 13 people. running is good for health. even my friends had difficulty finding me cause i'm all over the place.

chopsticks and ginseng medicine were found at my counter. haix. i just feel like putting them in someone's bag.

3rd day at work
i was still assigned in the afternoon shift. unfortunately, Fadillah was absent and i had to take over her job permanently. i met other new people and i love this job from the first day! did the daily routine and some irresponsible woman left her panties from the ladies department on my counter. she left it at the men's clothes for goodness sake. what's her purpose huh?! and it wasn't just underwear, it was a thong! i just pretended i didn't notice it cause the panties were placed where lots of people walk pass.

although we knew each other's name, we refused to call by our own names. instead, we call each other by what brands of departments we took care of. for example me, i took care of De Fry and Casualists. so they'll call me "De Fry". then one girl she handles the clothes at the fitting room. so we'll call her "Fitting room". lol. all this is just within my area. other people call me by name of course.

4th day at work

Morning shift today. and i seriously don't like it. cause i felt totally lethargic and i kept compressing my yawn. worse, no customers to serve in the morning. that just leaves me to folding clothes and replenishing stocks which doesn't give me the rush to do the work. no running. no fun.

i've got blisters everyday. silly me forget to put on plaster on my foot. around noon, that's when customers start to get more and more. but i can't run with this stupid blisters so i managed to just brisk walk. but sometimes, i don't care but just run back to the store room cause i don't want them to keep waiting.

i found out that Fadillah is not coming to work ever again for some reasons. before my break, i was told to take care of addidas. o.0 very blur cause i really don't know about their stocks and all. luckily only a few customers approached me. then i ciao for my break. nothing much to talk about today. just that someone left a brown bikini on my counter. BOO!

someone thought that i was a Burmis. LOL? just before my end of work, i was folding the last few pieces of pants when a malay guy (promoter) approached me. from the strong smell, i can tell he smokes.

Smoker: Hey, how old are you?
Me: 16. why?
Smoker: Nothing. eh, you wear retainer ah?
Me: Yah.
Smoker: What time you go home?
Me: Soon.
Smoker: Oh. I going for break now. bye. see you later.
Me: (starts to think he's a little bit freaky)

finally, when it was time for me to go home, i was looking for my punch card at the security post when the same guy (who was supposed to go for his break) appeared by my side. he asked my if i lost my card and i said no. after that, i went back in the store and found someone to go back home with me. Thankfully she saved me cause the guy was waiting for me at the security post. when he saw me with my friend, he just said bye and went back in the store. -_-
